The hummingbird moth.

This picture was taken at the end of July. Also called Hemaris diffinis, it is one of four species that live in the Americas. In all there are 24 accepted species in the world. This particular species of moth is often confused with bumble bees due to the orange and black bands on the abdomen. I had great success this year in taking pictures of them, but it was still a challenge to get a nice picture.
