Ruby-throated hummingbird, female.

One of the success that I have had last year was shooting hummingbirds. They are difficult to spot and even more difficult to take pictures of. Many a morning I have spent near some flowers that they love in the hope of seeing them. This picture that I am posting is of a female hummingbird. She was resting near some branches low on the ground and I was mere inches away.

Canon T2i, Canon zoom lens 75-300, iso 400, f/5.6, 1/800 sec.
