The Barred Owl.

I took this picture in mid-December of last year. I was quite surprised when i discovered this owl in a branch. I had been following it for some time as it flew from one branch to another. And then, luck struck as it decided to settle on a branch that was not very high. I followed it and got as close as possible before shooting several pictures of it. The light was low but I still managed this shot.

This owl usually sits quietly during the day and hunts at night. Not easy to find as it is hard to see high up in the trees.
