The downy woodpecker, female.


This picture was taken last year at the end of July. I love to take pictures of woodpeckers but they are a challenge to me. Taking a good picture of them at the right time can be difficult. In this case i saw this female downy woodpecker working this tree for some time. I positioned myself so that I had a nice background and took several pictures until I was happy with the result.
