The Great Egret in the Lachine rapids.


This picture was taken in mid-July, in the park that is near the Lachine rapids. I was very surprised to see that bird in the area as it is usually not found there. Easily recognizable at its dark legs and yellow bill. It is a large bird and part of the heron family. I barely had the time to take a series of pictures before it took off.
