The song sparrow.

This picture was taken in mid-April. I was walking in the botanical garden, in the alpine area, when my ears were attracted to a singing bird. I had a hard time tracking it down until finally I looked down at my feet and saw it on the ground, hopping around but still singing.

This bird is a very common sparrow and the best known. It is found throughout North America in gardens and city parks.
