Hawk on the attack.

This picture was taken in early March. I was taking pictures in an area where feeders were located and so birds were plentiful, coming and going. Of course, some of the seeds dropped to the ground and this in turn attracts the squirrels. Everyone loves a free lunch. I heard a cry behind me and out of the blue a hawk, Cooper’s hawk arrived directly on the snow in front of me, ready to swoop down on the squirrels. He tried to catch them but they were too quick, scurrying up a tree and remaining there for a while. I was as close as possible to the hawk and I snapped several pictures.
