The male purple finch.

Well, last week I offered the female purple finch which really is not, and this week is the turn of the male, which is still not really purple but more reddish. I find that this bird is quite spectacular in the color that it offers. Not as conspicuously red as the cardinal, but more of a muted red. I find that it is still spectacular. It is  very much a bird that is attracted to bird feeders and sesame seeds.
