Eating berries.

This picture was taken last year in early December. I was looking for any bird activity when I stumbled upon these birds, the American Robin. These birds can be found through-out North America and are often considered a harbinger of Spring. They more and more can be found year round in northern areas like Canada. They like to congregate in large quantities called roosts.

I was surprised when I saw them as I could count more than 25 on all one tree, eating the berries that still were hanging on various trees. I had no problem getting close and snapped several pictures of them eating. They are shy birds and if approached too closely will fly away.

Canon XTI, Canon zoom lens 75-300mm, iso800, f/10, 1/800sec.
