The black-capped chickadee.

One of the most ubiquitous birds of winter is the black capped-chickadee. It can be found year round and has to be one of the friendliest bird among all the birds that one can encounter. In this case, I literally stalked some of the birds to be as close as possible to them, but I did not want them to see me. For as soon as they see a human being they will come to you, no doubt in expectation of getting food from you. In one case one of these birds even landed on my 300mm lens!

Canon XTI, Canon zoom lens 75-300mm, iso800, f/7.1, 1/400sec.
