The look of a killer!

This picture was taken in early September. I had been walking in an area of the garden early in the morning hoping to catch some sleepy insects or drowsy butterflies. Suddenly as I was passing by some tall plants I noticed something hanging upside down. I carefully looked and saw that it was a wasp that seemed to be in sleep mode. I was able to position my tripod carefully and took some good pictures of the wasp sleeping or resting. To get the wasp upright I simply turned my picture the other way so that the front part of the wasp would face me.

This post is dedicated to my brother-in-law, Bruno, who died peacefully in his sleep at the age of 52. Thanks for everything Bruno!

Canon XTI, Sigma macro lens 150mm, iso400, f/3.5, 1/250sec.
