The time for grasshoppers.

Grasshoppers seem to be plentiful right now. I started noticing them in late June and early July. This picture that I am posting is from early July, when the heat was really beginning. I always loved grasshoppers as subjects; once on a plant or other object they tend to just sit there and do not move. Perfect for a photographer that passes by. They are sometimes hard to see as they camouflage themselves quite nicely and tend to blend with the  environment that they find themselves in.

I was able to use my tripod for this shot and so was able to use a low shutter speed to avoid as much as possible noise in the picture.

Canon XTI, Sigma macro lens 150mm, iso100, f/5.0, 1/500sec.
