Dragonflies having fun in the sun!

I took a lot of pictures the first two weeks of June as I was on vacation, but this one dates from late May. There is a small lake in the garden and where some rock formations lead slightly into the pond. Among the water lilies one can see frogs as well as dragonflies darting in all directions.

As I was walking on the rock formation I noticed that some dragonflies were casually stopping and resting on the path, sometimes doing nothing but at other times, waiting for a mate to come along and, hum, have some fun!

Canon XTI, Sigma macro lens 150mm, iso400, f/22, 1/60sec.

  1. By coincidence I posted a picture of a dragonfly today too:

They’re fun (but sometimes difficult) to photograph.

    • Thanks for your comment. Your picture is superb! Love the angle of the shot.

  2. Thanks, Phil.
