The green stinker!

I was walking along the numerous paths of the botanical garden, always on the look-out for insects when suddenly I stumbled on this insect, called usually the green stinker. It was on a leaf and not moving at all. I took several pictures of it from different sides, and this one was the best. It is called the green stinker because when harassed it releases a foul smelling gas. At one point, I did see it release something but I did not smell anything. I am still surprised to see such insects so soon in the season. This one is perhaps a juvenile as I have seen such insects with various colors, ranging from deep green to brown. They are considered a pest for crops.
